First Signal (2021)

Oh golly, where do I start with First Signal? It tries so, so hard (well, no, it actually doesn’t), but it doesn’t really give me anywhere to start from. Sigh. Groan. Argh. This is one of those times when it’s danged near impossible to let a movie make its case.

It starts out decently enough. The credits look OK, even if the CGI isn’t great. It shows some actual footage of Angela Merkel and the G7 Summit, but then it says the conference was moved to Brussels because the President of the United States is having a super-secret emergency meeting.
